Canada reported on Friday the New Housing Price Index (NHPI) edged up 0.1 per cent m-o-m in February, following a
0.1 per cent m-o-m slip in the previous month. This marked the first monthly gain in new housing prices in three
months.
Economists had forecast
the NHPI to remain unchanged m-o-m for February.
In y-o-y terms,
the NHPI inched up 0.1 per cent in February, the same pace as in the previous two months.
Overall, this was the fourth consecutive annual advance in the NHPI.
