Eurostat, the
statistical office of the European Union (EU), announced on Monday that
construction output in the Eurozone jumped by 1.2 per cent m-o-m in November 2024
after a downwardly revised 0.8 per cent m-o-m gain (from +1.0 per cent m-o-m)
in October 2024. On a y-o-y basis, construction output climbed 1.4 per cent in November,
following a downwardly revised flat performance (from +0.2 per cent) in the previous month. This represented
the strongest annual increase since December
2023 (+2.8 per cent y-o-y).
According to the report, the annual surge in November reflected
gains in all major construction sectors - civil engineering (+4.5 per cent y-o-y), construction of buildings (+1.6 per cent y-o-y) and specialised
construction activities (0.9 per cent y-o-y).
In the European
Union (EU) as a whole, production in construction increased by 1.3 per cent
m-o-m and 0.9 per cent y-o-y in November.
