U.S. stock index futures tumbled on Tuesday as investors flocked to safe-haven assets as geopolitical tensions heightened after Russian President Vladimir Putin broadened conditions for using nuclear weapons after Ukraine attacked military targets in Russia with Western-produced missiles.
