The U.S. Energy
Information Administration (EIA) reported on Thursday that natural gas inventories decreased by 6
billion cubic feet (bcf) in the week that ended August 9. This was the first
weekly drop in natural gas inventories in 19 weeks.
Economists had forecast an increase of 43 bcf.
The previous
week recorded a build of 21 bcf.
