European Central Bank Governing Council member Joachim Nagel stated on Friday that the probability is increasing that a rate cut could come before the summer break. The official, however, emphasised that it would be dependent on data, but the prospects had brightened.
Nagel also expressed the view that the last mile of monetary policy regularly is difficult, as the policymakers have to stay calm and can’t become euphoric too early claiming they’ve overcome inflation.
