The U.S. Energy
Information Administration (EIA) reported on Thursday that natural gas
inventories rose by 9 billion cubic feet (bcf) in the week that ended March 14.
This represented the first weekly build
in natural gas inventories in 18 weeks.
Economists had forecast a gain of 3 bcf.
The previous week saw a decrease of 62 bcf.
