Eurozone’s construction output rises 1.2 per cent in November

Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), announced on Monday that construction output in the Eurozone jumped by 1.2 per cent m-o-m in November 2024 after a downwardly revised 0.8 per cent m-o-m gain (from +1.0 per cent m-o-m) in October 2024. On a y-o-y basis, construction output climbed 1.4 per cent in November, following a downwardly revised flat performance (from +0.2 per cent) in the previous month. This represented the strongest annual increase since December 2023 (+2.8 per cent y-o-y).

According to the report, the annual surge in November reflected gains in all major construction sectors - civil engineering (+4.5 per cent y-o-y), construction of buildings (+1.6 per cent y-o-y) and specialised construction activities (0.9 per cent y-o-y).

In the European Union (EU) as a whole, production in construction increased by 1.3 per cent m-o-m and 0.9 per cent y-o-y in November.
