Boston Fed President Collins: The Fed could eventually need to slow down the pace of rate cuts

President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston Susan Collins said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) on Friday that a rate cut in December is certainly on the table but it is not a done deal.

The official noted that there is more data that the policymakers will see between now and December, adding that they have to continue to weigh what makes sense.

Collins also suggested that the U.S. central could eventually need to slow down the pace of rate cuts but it is too soon to say if that will be in December.

In addition, the chief of the Boston Fed expressed the view that the Fed's policy is restrictive and said that she doesn't see evidence of new price pressures.
