The European
Commission (EC) informed on Thursday its flash estimate revealed the consumer
confidence indicator for the Eurozone went up 0.3 percentage point to -14.0 in June
from an unrevised -14.3 in the previous month. This was the highest reading since February 2022 (-9.4).
Economists had predicted
the index to increase to -13.6 early this month.
Considering the
European Union (EU) as a whole, the consumer sentiment indicator also rose by 0.3 percentage point to -12.9 in June.
Despite this month’s gains, both indicators remained below their long-term averages.
