The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Instituto Nacional
de Estadística y Geografía, NEGI) announced on Monday its latest survey showed
that business confidence in Mexico decreased to the lowest level in nine months
in May.
According to the report, Mexico’s business confidence index fell to 53.7
points in May from a downwardly revised 54.1 points (from 54.2 points) in the previous month. This
represented the lowest reading since August 2023 (53.6).
