European Central Bank Governing Council member Pierre Wunsch said on Tuesday that the ECB's first half of a percentage point in interest rate cuts is close to a no-brainer.
However, the official stressed that the ECB's policymakers should proceed gradually after cutting in June and refrain from committing to a second rate cut already in July.
Also, Wunsch warned that high rates for longer from the U.S. Federal Reserve might lead to a slower pace at which the ECB cuts rates.
