L'indicatore riflette le aspettative di variazione dei prezzi delle case. L'indicatore è calcolato dal Royal Institute di esperti indipendenti (RICS). I valori sopra lo zero riflette l'eccesso di chi suggerisce l'aumento dei prezzi nei prossimi sei mesi, e viceversa.

Effetto del mercato

L'indice in genere non ha un forte impatto momentaneo sulla sterlina inglese. Però nello stesso tempo è un indicatore importante, che permette di determinare la situazione nel mercato immobiliare britannico per i prossimi mesi. Nel complesso, il tasso di crescita è positivo per la sterlina.
