BoE's Haskel says he would rather hold rates until there is more certainty that underlying inflationary pressures have subsided sustainably

Bank of England Jonathan Haskel said on Monday that he would rather hold rates until there is more certainty that underlying inflationary pressures have subsided sustainably.

The policymaker noted that the UK labour market remains tight and impaired, meaning that inflation will remain above target for quite some time.

He also stressed that the BoE's MPC is looking closely at labour market conditions and underlying inflationary indicators such as services inflation.
