Eurozone’s consumer confidence improves less than anticipated in June

The European Commission (EC) informed on Thursday its flash estimate revealed the consumer confidence indicator for the Eurozone went up 0.3 percentage point to -14.0 in June from an unrevised -14.3 in the previous month. This was the highest reading since February 2022 (-9.4).

Economists had predicted the index to increase to -13.6 early this month.

Considering the European Union (EU) as a whole, the consumer sentiment indicator also rose by 0.3 percentage point to -12.9 in June.

Despite this month’s gains, both indicators remained below their long-term averages.
