European Central Bank vice-president Luis de Guindos noted on Monday that he is concerned about the gains of far-right parties in the recent European Parliament elections. He called these developments "illiberal movements that put into question the European integration process." The official added that market repricing has been orderly and has not of an extreme impact.
De Guindos also noted that the disinflation process has been very intense, and all the indicators of underlying inflation indicate a deceleration of it. He stressed that the ECB's policymakers do not have any type of predetermined path for interest rates.
