China's State Council Tariff Commission stated on Friday that it would impose the additional 34% tariffs on all imported goods, originating from the U.S. beginning April 10. According to the statement, the step is a response to the U.S. government's April 2 announcement of "reciprocal tariffs" on Chinese goods exported to the United States.
"China urges the United States to immediately cancel its unilateral tariff measures and resolve trade differences through consultation in an equal, respectful and mutually beneficial manner," the Commission added.
