The European
Commission (EC) announced on Thursday its flash estimate revealed the consumer
confidence indicator for the Eurozone inched up 0.3 percentage points to -14.2
in January 2025 from an unrevised -14.5 in the previous month. This marked
the first increase in the index in three
months.
Economists
had expected the index to improve to
-14.2 early this month.
Considering the
European Union (EU) as a whole, the consumer sentiment indicator held steady at -13.3 in January.
Given this
month’s performances, both indicators remained below their long-term averages.
