European Central Bank Governing Council member Boris Vujcic said in an interview with Econostream released on Monday that the ECB is unlikely to accelerate rate cuts. He noted that cutting faster would need a more significant departure from the central bank's projections. “At the moment we don’t see this, because developments are broadly in line with our projections,” the official added.
Vujcic also stated that it is better to move gradually amid elevated uncertainties. "This is what we’re doing,” he stressed, adding that expectations of gradual, meeting-by-meeting cuts are justified.
