Eurozone’s consumer confidence unexpectedly deteriorates in November

The European Commission (EC) reported on Thursday its flash estimate revealed the consumer confidence indicator for the Eurozone fell by 1.2 percentage points to -13.7 in November from an unrevised -12.5 in the previous month. This was the lowest reading since June (-14.0).

Economists had anticipated the index to edge up to -12.4 early this month.

Considering the European Union (EU) as a whole, the consumer sentiment indicator dropped by 1.1 percentage points to -12.4 in November.

With this month’s declines, both indicators fell back below their long-term averages.
