Consumer confidence in France deteriorated slightly in June

According to the report from INSEE, in June, the consumer confidence indicator fell by 1 point to 89 points, which coincided with economists' forecasts. This was the lowest value this year. The index also remains well below its long-term average (100 points).

INSEE said that the index, which evaluates the opinion of households about their future financial situation, rose by 1 point to -13 points. The index reflecting the opinion of households regarding their past financial situation fell by 1 point, to -25 points. The balance of opinion regarding the opportunity to make major purchases fell by 1 point to -33 points. Meanwhile, the index assessing the opinion of households regarding their current ability to save rose by 3 points, to 18 points. The balance of opinion regarding their ability to save in the future fell by 4 points to 7 points.

The data also showed that the proportion of households who consider that the standard of living in France will improve over the next twelve months decreased moderately - the corresponding balance fell by 4 points, to -50 points. Households' fears about unemployment have fallen slightly: the corresponding balance has dropped 2 points, to 25 points.
