European Central Bank Governing Council member Villeroy de Galhau said on Wednesday that the ECB will very probably begin cutting interest rates in June.
The official added that the pace of the ECB's rate cuts after June is to be decided at each meeting and stressed that the central bank's rate decisions are guided by the European data and forecasts.
