The European
Commission (EC) informed on Monday its
flash estimate revealed the consumer confidence indicator for the Eurozone inched
up 0.2 percentage point to -14.7 in April from an unrevised -14.9 in the previous
month. This was the highest reading since February 2022 (-9.4).
Economists had predicted
the index to increase to -40.0 early this month.
Considering the
European Union (EU) as a whole, the consumer sentiment indicator held steady at -15.2 in April.
Both indicators remained well below their
long-term averages.
